THE DOCTORS

The practice has 17 doctors; the names, qualifications and year of registration as a qualified doctor are listed below for all. **Please note this information is now being updated due to the merger.**

Our team also includes GP registrars (who are doctors in training for General Practice) who are attached to the practice for either one year or six months at a time.

You are free to make an appointment with any of these doctors, subject to availability, but we would encourage you to stay with the same doctor for the sake of continuity of your care.

Our Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants (HCA) deal with an array of problems and our patients do not always need to see the doctor.
In fact for some problems such as vaccinations, blood tests or cervical smears, booking with a doctor may mean a wasted journey and appointment. This is one of the reasons that our receptionist may enquire about the nature and urgency of your problem to ensure that you see the correct person.
They can help with:
Contraception and family planning
Cervical smears
Immunisations both routine and for travel
Routine monitoring and advice on:
Asthma
COPD
Diabetes
Hypertension (including home monitoring to diagnose)
Heart disease
Thyroid disease
Rheumatology
Health promotion:
Smoking cessation
Diet management
Lifestyle
Travellers health
You may make an appointment to see the nurse without seeing a doctor first.

Our Health Care Assistants
Our Health Care Assistant are able to do:
Blood tests
ECGs
Blood Pressure checks
General Health Checks
Some vaccinations – Flu and Pneumovax
B12 injections
Ear syringing
COPD reviews

OUR OFFICE TEAM

Karen Richards is the Executive Manager and heads a strong Management Team
Irene Bagnall - Services Manager.
Michelle Murray-Adams - Enhanced Services and IT Manager.
Chris Rollings - Compliance and Training Manager.
Zoe Goodchild - Reception Manager.
Our staff are all here to assist you and to help you get the most out of our services. Please ask them if you are unsure whether you are best to see a nurse, health care assistant or doctor. Our whole team is dedicated to providing safe and accessible care to all.
On most days we see a whole range of patients, some of whom have relatively minor problems, but there are a small number with urgent, life threatening conditions.
At times we are busy and we need to prioritise the needs of those that are most sick, so it is vital that patients use our services in the most effective way.
Our staff are trained to ask questions in a sensitive manner; their objective is to help ensure the smooth and safe running of the practice.

Undergraduate TeachingMedical Students from Birmingham University do a clinical attachment within the practice.
You may be offered an appointment to see a student, you will always see a doctor as well.
